develop Regional Synergies have been very promising; building on existing strengths and
fertile new ideas; Kwinana is a concentrated and diversified industrial region
with a history of collaboration
•Companies involved so far include
BP, Alcoa, WMC, Nalco, CSBP, Cockburn Cement, Water Corporation,
HIsmelt, Millenium Performance Chemicals, Cooperative Bulk Handling as well as
Curtin University
•Kwinana Industries
Council had recently initiated a regional inputs-outputs study
•Projects are being developed around
four themes: Solid Wastes, Chemicals, Water, Energy/Heat
•Potential showcase project:
Integrated approach to a balanced CO2 loop between Kwinana industrial
emissions and [tree planting for sequestration and soil salinity relief
Currently working towards a Kwinana
Strip shared vision:
“No Net Wastes, No Net Fresh Water
Impacts, No Net Emissions”
